Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12 - 18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Interact clubs organize at least two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Rotary club sponsor, mentor, and guide Interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.
We direct our efforts in six areas to enhance our local and global impact. Our most successful and sustainable projects and activities tend to fall within the following areas:
Promoting Peace
Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.
Fighting Disease
We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases like polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria. We improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas.
Providing Clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
We support local solutions to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people every day. We don’t just build wells and walk away. We share our expertise with community leaders and educators to make sure our projects succeed long-term.
Saving mothers and children
Nearly 6 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. We expand access to quality care, so mothers and their children can live and grow stronger.
Supporting Education
More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.
Growing Local Economies
We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and create opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old. We also strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.
AS INTERACTORS--we take action, build international understanding, and make new friends at home and around the world. We want you to join us and develop your leadership skills while you discover the power of Service Above Self, and find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun!

As we all know, COVID-19 has created a rapidly evolving environment where changes are being made quickly in the interest of public health. In making decisions related to upcoming rotary district events, Rotary International recommends that members and participants follow the guidelines set by the WHO and our national, regional, and/or local health authorities to protect your health and safety. The safety of young people, and your health and safety is a top priority for any Rotary-related activity.
Consequently, due to all the concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC, WHO, and other health authorities, we have decided to postpone the 2019-2020 District 7600 Annual Rotaract/Interact Leadership Conference. The District 7600 Youth Services Committee will continuously monitor the situation in the coming weeks and months, in order to make an informed decision with regards to rescheduling the event. We thank you for your understanding and support.
Best regards,
District 7600 Youth Services Chairman
